Originally from Peru, Angelina has rhythm running through her veins. Her passion for dance has taken her to perform at various stages including the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and the renowned Symphony Space in NYC. Finding Zumba when she needed it most, she started a life changing journey. Her classes are fun, interactive and high energy. Making her dreams a reality, Angelina hopes to someday, share her love for dance and Zumba internationally with others around the world.
Melissa Carias moved from her hometown Honduras to the United States and got her Master in Business Administration in 2003, she discovered her passion in the Zumba® Fitness Program and became an instructor in 2007. She is now a certified AFAA Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. She is licensed to teach Zumba® Toning, Zumba Kids®, Zumba® Gold, Aqua Zumba®, Zumba(R) Sentao, and Zumba(R) in the Circuit.
Roxanne is from Brooklyn, NY and started dancing when she was 3 years old. She fell in love with dance from the very first day. She has studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, African Caribbean, hip-hop, salsa, merengue and bachata. She is also a first degree Black Belt in Shotokan karate. She has been featured in People Magazine Dec 2011 and Self Magazine March 2012 with Zumba Fitness. Zumba Fitness feels like a long lost love that she has been searching for.
A native New Yorker and Latino, Diego Chauca took his first Zumba class as a college senior while earning his Bachelors of Science in Psychology degree at Stony Brook University. He immediately fell in love with Zumba’s unique fusion of Latin dance choreography and fitness. After reaching his personal fitness goals, he now devotes his time to motivating and mentoring his students through his high-intensity and energetic Zumba classes.
Micky is a professional actor with a BFA in Drama from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. She was raised in Bogotá, Colombia, and she brings the latin flavor and rhythm into everything she does. Being a natural performer, she enjoys bringing the party into all of her Zumba classes. She has an extensive dance background that started when she was only 4 years old ranging from Ballet, Jazz, and Tap, to Hip-hop, Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata, and loves taking on new styles wherever she finds them. Get ready for an awesome class filled with amazing, positive energy that leaves you walking out with a smile on your face!
Jamie Drye is the founder and co-artistic director of Drye/Marinaro Dance Company. He has been teaching dance & fitness classes for over 6 years, he currently teaches Modern, Zumba Fitness, and is now the Bokwa Expert Specialist Trainer of Connecticut. His Zumba choreography is easy to follow and set to an extremely diverse playlist. Jamie is committed to producing a warm and positive environment that is unique, safe, effective, and fun.
Melissa “ISSA D.” Dungao has trained in commercial hip hop, jazz, and tap from the American Repertory Ballet in Princeton, NJ and the Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan, NY. She has performed on CBS as a featured dancer / competitor at the Miss Teen USA Pageant, Philippine National Television, and in numerous local productions in NJ & NYC. She is a Private Equity analyst by day, but dance & movement is what truly fuels her, and she can’t wait to get to the studio in her off time.
