JoZee was raised in Virginia Beach, VA and has been dancing since she could walk. She began her formal dance training at 16 and earned a BA in Dance from Old Dominion University. Upon graduation, she moved to New York City and trained at various schools such as Broadway Dance Center, Martha Graham, and Alvin Ailey. Also a fitness enthusiast, she was thrilled with the advent of ZUMBA because of its fusion of dance with fitness. She is a licensed ZUMBA instructor and is also AFAA and CPR/AED certified.
Stefani has always been passionate about fitness and wellness. She first came in contact with Zumba when she wanted to try something different at the gym. She became so addicted, a “Zumbafreak”, that she wanted to get licensed to teach and inspire others. Her endless energy, bubbly personality and passion will be sure to leave your sweat on the floor while having a fabulous time!
Joining us straight from France, Knzo Mendy is an international dancer / choreographer and Zumba® instructor; not to mention that he is also a great Zumba Jammer. He has mastered several styles of dance including Salsa, Rumba, Bachata, Kizomba, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Reggaeton and African ballet, to only name a few. He performed on stage with Beta at the 2012 International Zumba® Convention in Orlando. Knzo will bring the heat to every class and take you on a trip around the world in Parisian style.
Katherine has been dancing for as long as she can remember. She turned her passion into a career and now holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts in Dance & Theater, as well as a Dance Pedagogy Certificate, and most recently completed her AFAA Certification in Group Fitness. Before moving to NYC, Ms. Moncebaiz lived Boston where she was voted one of Boston’s Best Zumba Instructors.
Danielle is a NYC native who has been dancing her entire life. She spent her early dance career in competitive dance but later moved to professional training at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. She currently choreographs and performs original off-Broadway musicals with PiPE DREAM Theatre in NY. Danielle was licensed in Zumba 3 years ago, and her life hasn’t been the same since! Her class is a high-energy, fun-filled experience that explores every genre Zumba has to offer.
Born in Kenya, Africa, Mary began her fitness career as a gymnast and Junior Olympic Volleyball player at a young age. While dance was not an option in her home country, she rediscovered her passion for music and movement when she moved to the US. From that moment on it was love forever. The idea of being able to do what you love while inspiring people to be fit, healthy, happy, and youthful were the driving forces in her career as a group fitness instructor. She has been teaching in the fitness industry for 11 years as a Gymnastics and Volleyball coach, Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Her Zumba classes are high energy and will make you sweat.
Jose Ozuna has been trained in Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Afro dance. With more than 10 years in the dance field and with a MA and GF certification, Jose has found the perfect combination between health, fitness and dance. He has participated in various productions and is proud of the knowledge he has acquired. Touched by the art of dance, he decided to start not only performing but also using his skills to bring happiness and well being to his students through low-to high impact cardio dance classes.
Irina began her dance career as a 5 year old in Moscow, Russia. Within a year, she was on tour and performing on the best stages of Russia and Europe. Upon her arrival in NY, Irina joined the Brighton Ballet Theater and later continued her dance training at the Performing Arts High School and Columbia University. For the past ten years she has studied West African, Congolese, and Haitian dance, as well as Samba and belly dance, with some of the best teachers in NYC. Teaching Zumba has given Irina an opportunity to share her most beloved dance styles with her students.
